Weekend dates for licencing offices in Winklespruit

Motor vehicle licensing services are offered at Kingsburgh Sizakala Centre, which is on Gracedale Road in Winklespruit.

THE KZN Department of Transport has released weekend dates and opening times of the driver’s licence testing centre (DLTC) and motor licensing offices in Winklespruit for the rest of December.

The Winklespruit DLTC on Kingsway Road offers driver-related services such as bookings for learners and driver tests, as well as testing, renewal of driver’s licences, applications for and renewals of professional driving permits (PrDP), and collection of driver’s licence cards.

Motor vehicle licensing services are offered at Kingsburgh Sizakala Centre, which is on Gracedale Road in Winklespruit. These offices only offer vehicle licensing-related services, such as the renewal of vehicle licence discs, change of vehicle ownership, and do not offer driver’s licensing-related transactions.

The Winklespruit DLTC is open on the Saturday of December 20 for all driver’s licence-related transactions from 07:00 – 14:00. Payments are by both cash and card at the DLTC.

For motor vehicle licence transactions, the Kingsburgh Sizakala Centre motor licensing office will be open on December 20 from 07:15 – 14:00. This office only accepts card payments.

Documents required for the processing of driver’s licence renewal applications in terms of the National Road Traffic Act, Act 93 of 1996, are:

• Identity document/smart card and a copy.
• The cost of R250 for the issue of a driver’s licence.
• The cost of R90 for a temporary driver’s licence, and one ID-sized photograph.

The following should be noted regarding proof of residence:

• Must not be older than three months.
• Must clearly state the physical address, e.g. a bank statement, store account, etc.
• If the applicant is residing with parents, a letter from the parent, accompanied by proof of residence, is required.

An eye test certificate from an optometrist is preferred and must not be older than three months.
