February Sassa dates announced

There are also steps to follow if you want to change the payment method or your banking details.

THE South African Social Security Agency (Sassa) has confirmed that social grant payments for February will be paid out during the first week, starting from February 3. As usual, the older persons’ grant will be paid first.

Payment dates:

• Older persons’ grant – February 3
• Disability grant – February 4
• Children’s grant and all other grants – February 5

Sassa grant amounts:

• Old age (60–74 years) and disability – R2 315
• Old age (75+ years) – R2 335
• War veterans – R2 315
• Care dependency – R2 315
• Child support – R560
• Foster care – R1 250
• SRD – R370

Steps to follow to change payment method or banking details:

• Visit your nearest Sassa office
• Bring a valid South African ID and proof of account (or a three-month bank statement for an old account)
• Complete a consent form to process the change request
• To avoid payment delays, Sassa recommends submitting change requests before the 19th of every month.
