Tabletop fanatic promotes miniatures sports game

An Amanzimtoti resident takes his fandom to a new level to promote his favourite tabletop game, Bloodbowl.

SOME tabletop game fans are content with the occasional game of Monopoly or Catan, but one avid Amanzimtoti player, Carl Coetzee, is taking it up a notch in the hopes of showing more people, especially in his hometown, his favourite tabletop game, Bloodbowl.

The two-player miniatures sports board game is set in an alternate version of the prolific Warhammer universe, placing two opposing teams in control of various fantasy races. It was created in 1986 and a few months ago, launched a new season, bringing with it new teams and a new rule-set.

The average game lasts two to three hours depending on experience.

Coetzee recently went on Underground Radio to explain the game’s new addition, and hopes to grow interest in Amanzimtoti and surrounding areas. If anyone is interested in joining the Natal Bloodbowl League, which is free and open to anyone, contact Carl on 083 629 0862 to join the group.
