Sandra Govender, KCFW social worker, said that recent times have been incredibly difficult, with unemployment, poverty and a lack of funding creating significant challenges. In spite of this, the NPO remains committed to offering psychosocial counselling, outreach programmes on reproductive health and hygiene, as well as much-needed assistance to underprivileged children.

“At Kingsburgh Child and Family Welfare, we believe that love is more than just words, it is action, care, and the willingness to uplift those in need.  We invite you to share the true spirit of love by helping us provide essential support to vulnerable children and families in our community,” said Govender.

One of its initiatives, the Gift of Love project, aims to provide basic toiletries, including soap, deodorant, toothpaste, shampoo, and sanitary towels to learners from impoverished backgrounds. These simple necessities are given to restore dignity, confidence, and a sense of well-being, allowing children to focus on their education without the added burden of personal hardship.

What you can donate

  • Essential items like toiletries and hygiene products
  • Food parcel items including rice, mieliemeal, porridge, canned food, peanut butter, noodles, as well as sugar, oil, pasta, samp, beans, milk and teabags.
  • Pre-loved clothing from babies to adults, bric a brac and household items.

“Your generosity will not only provide physical necessities but also restore hope and dignity to those who need it most. Together, we can be a beacon of light and love in our community,” said Govender.
