Metro police crack down on illegal trading in Isipingo CBD
The metro police reiterated the commitment to maintaining safe and orderly public spaces while supporting lawful trade across the city.
THE metro police have intensified by-law enforcement operations in the south of the city, with a targeted crackdown on illegal trading in Isipingo CBD.

Officers carried out a focused operation along Thomas Lane, where several non-compliant hawkers were fined for contravening municipal by-laws. According to metro police spokesperson Colonel Boysie Zungu, the operation forms part of ongoing efforts to restore order and ensure that all traders operate within the law.
“We continue to enforce municipal by-laws to ensure that trading is conducted in designated areas and that all traders have the necessary permits. Non-compliance will result in fines and, where necessary, confiscation of goods,” said Zungu.
He urged traders to adhere to regulations to avoid penalties and disruptions to their businesses.
