Scores of learners supported their respective schools, the loudest and most passionate being the home crowd, cheering on KHS in both divisions, U15 and U18. KHS’ first team opened the tournament with a close game against Port Shepstone High School, losing  7-12. A 35-5 victory over Port Natal High School fired up both the team and the crowd. The home team then took on Birdswoods Secondary School for the final group stage bout, losing 12-21.

Kingsway coach, Tendai Dhliwayo said, “I am proud of the boys. It was a narrow 10-12 loss in the bowl semi-finals. We could not have asked for more from our young team, backed with only two senior players, of which one was out of commission after an injury in the first match. I believe we have laid a strong foundation for rugby sevens and we will definitely turn the tables next year.”

For the U15 bowl final, Linpark High School took home the victory, while Hillcrest High School won the U15 plate final, and Northwood School achieved the cup victory.

The U18 bowl win went to Northwood School. Port Shepstone High School won the U18 plate final and Ferrum High School won the U18 cup final.
