
* SCOTTBURGH has come out firmly against the inclusion of Amanzimtoti, Kingsburgh and Umbogintwini in an Upper South Coast regional services council.
It was reported in last week’s issue of the Sun that Scottburgh was against the inclusion in the three towns in a proposed Upper South Coast Rrgional services council, but the council was almost equally divided on the issue.
However, when it came to vote on Tuesday night this week, the council put up a unanimous front.
* DENISE Purves of Isundu Drive had always wanted to keep geese, but she never expected a pair to literally drop into her garden out of the blue. But two months ago that’s exactly what happened, and as an added bonus the two Chinese geese quickly set about building a nest among her banana trees within two weeks of their arrival.
* KIND citizens who give money to the young black beggers who frequent the Checkers parking area should note that most of the money is spent on glue. According to the manageress of Ken’s Video, Susan Vorster the boys arrive early every morning and leave after 5pm.
Some of the boys are regulars, while others come less frequently. Their days activities consist of asking for money from motorists who park in the parking lot.
* TOTI CID are looking for a 22-year old local man who escaped from custody last Friday. The man they are seeking is Gregory Neil Pentz, formally of Claremont in the Cape, who is wanted on charges of fraud.
He was arrested at 33 Queens Terrace, where he was boarding last Friday night and taken to Brighton Beach police station.
* NOW that municipal election nominations have closed and the full extent of the Conservative Part’s involvement in Amanzimtoti and Kingsbugh is revealed, some confidents are expressing concern at the CP’s ground work to date.
* THE TOTI police are anxious to contact Mr Dave Mullen, formerly of 25 Valley View Road, in connection with a Colt 45 firearm stolen when he lived at that address. The police have recovered the firearm and believed Mr Mullen may stil be living in this area.
