Beach Road bus nightmare

The noise from the buses is most disturbing as well as their reckless driving.

EDITOR – This letter is directed to the bus company transporting railway passengers.

Residents living in flats on Beach Road cannot understand why these buses turn off Kingsway into Beach Road and then drop off and pick up passengers at the railway bridge next to Kia Motors, and then have to get back onto Kingsway Road.

The buses start at 4.30am until after 8.30pm. The noise from the buses is most disturbing as well as their reckless driving. We are positive no study was done to find a practical route.

The CBD area has ample parking space for pick up and go, and entry back onto Kingsway Road, it would be far more practical, and would not inconvenience residents with all the noise.

It would be appreciated if this letter will be given consideration by the railway management authority and the ward councillor.

FRUSTRATED

Ed’s note: This letter has been forwarded to both the Passenger Rail Agency of South Africa (PRASA) and ward 97 councillor, Andre Beetge.
