EDITOR – How wonderfully blessed we are to live in the Amanzimtoti area.
Yes, we hear of crime and other negative topics daily, but there are so many positive facets to be grateful and proud of as well. South Coast Sun, I wonder if any of your sister newspapers all over this country can boast of programmes as uplifting and rewarding as the ‘character transformation programme’ adopted by the local pre-primary, primary and high-schools of our area? To those who created this idea and those who work on the project, we can only say a wonderfully well done.
We oldies at Poinsettia were amazingly entertained by the group of loving and well behaved multiracial pupils. We love you all and with most of our own grandchildren living far away, you more than filled in for them.
Thank you, thank you.

Ed’s note: Thank you for your heartwarming letter, Val and I wholeheartedly agree that this little village is indeed an inspiration for all – and especially because of the value-driven character transformation programme. It is massively beneficial when we find the next generation being guided and mentored in the right direction as future custodians of our world, which is exactly what the project aims for. Hats off to the teachers and principals of the various schools involved for placing this firmly on the agenda of what is vital in our children’s education.
