Gibson’s personal best time puts him in final straits for KZN selection

The team really did well, from the youngest member Anja Nawrattel who completed the 5km to granny Dawn Hall

RUN Walk for Life Toti (RWFL) congratulates Warren Gibson on the brilliant personal best time on Saturday morning at the KZN cross-country championship.

In so doing, he narrowly missed the medal and the team selection.

With a bit more hard work, he will join the team next year. Warren made RWFL proud.

The women and some men showed their support for Women’s Month once again by supporting the Woman in Action 10/5km at Chatsworth Stadium on Friday, 9 August. The team really did well, from the youngest member Anja Nawrattel who completed the 5km to granny Dawn Hall, who at 60-plus (we are not allowed to reveal her true age), it shows you are never too young or too old to start looking after your health by exercising.

The mean dream team are still training for the Mandela Marathon on Saturday, 24 August and the Hundred Miler on Friday, 20 September. Pledges and sponsorship received so far amount to about R1,000. Support this team when you see them on the road, perhaps wave or hoot to acknowledge their efforts and courage. They are collecting money for Faron-Mae Fisher who has Glycogen Storage Disease (GSD) type 0 (aglycogenosis). Sponsor the team per kilometre or just a small donation will be highly appreciated to keep these athletes going. For more infomation on pledges, call Debbie Ellish on 084-402-5800 or Jan Botha on 082-290-4005.
