The ramble will be at the North Park Nature Reserve in Queensburgh.
This small reserve of coastal lowland forest is adjacent to the Umhlatuzana River. Bushbuck, blue and grey duiker, banded mongoose, as well as abundant birdlife, may be seen. Paths have been laid out. Old settling ponds provide a haven for many water birds, and of interest is the old graveyard of the North family, who were the original owners.
Directions: Take exit 161 for M7 towards Edwin Swales VC Drive towards Queensburgh and travel for 21.9 km until you see the North Park Sign on the side of the road. Turn left into Main Road, and then a slight right onto Snaresbrook Road, followed by a right into O’Reilly Crescent. Some 170m further, you will find the reserve on the left hand side of the road.
The usual picnic will be held after the walk.
