League winners claim the tenpin spoils
When bowling ended, Shark Bite had scored 25 compared to Split Happens 17 and Pulse 13.
ANOTHER successful year has been finalised for the Amanzimtoti Tenpin Bowling Club and Dolphin Bowl.
All that remains is to congratulate the winners of the various leagues.
Starting with Monday Taxi Trios league where, with one game to be played, the top three teams were separated by just seven points. Each match generates 30 points so the whole league would depend on who bowled better on the day.
When bowling ended, Shark Bite had scored 25 compared to Split Happens 17 and Pulse 13. This made Shark Bite victorious by one-and-a-half points from Split Happens, with Pulse a further 10 points away in third.
Congratulations to Jenny Swanepoel, Donavan Maistry and Spike Knowles.
Tuesday Striker’s league champions for 2013 are the team of JP Fouche and Lee Mackenzie.
Wednesday Morning Soho league completed their programme and as is their tradition, they proceeded to a local restaurant and partied the day away. Nobody can remember who won but it does not seem to be important anyway.
Wednesday Millennium league was won by the ‘4 fun 2’ team of Brian Daventry-Bull and Sandi Kinsey, but all the individual trophies were annexed by Jivi Sewcharran and Ricolene Soorjlall, who took the individual trophies awarded for high game and high series in both scratch and handicap divisions.
Thursday Dolphin Doubles was also a bit of a cliffhanger with the ‘3’s-a-Crowd’ team leading from Top Dogs by 14 points, which could well have been overtaken on the night. The match started off disastrously for 3’s-a-Crowd falling to 10-0 behind in their game, while Top Dogs went 10-0 ahead in theirs. Fortunately Roy Prince found a line that had been missing in the first two games and surprised and delighted the huge crowd with a very controlled display of bowling which saw him and Suki Studzinski hang on to win the league title from Top Dogs, who had started battling against the P-Cats duo of Collin and Colin.
Phantom league November was won by Michael Cromhout from Ray (Lighty) Holmes.
Friday juniors do not consolidate scores so do not have an individual winner but the juniors have all progressed very well this year and the club looks forward to growing this league in 2014.
The proprietor, management and committee wish the bowlers well over the festive season and look forward to seeing everyone ‘on the lanes’ in 2014.
