Good support for weekly bowls competitions
Yvonne Wright, Rose Montgomery and Kathy Harding won the session and the overall winners were Lys McDonald, Julie Sutherland and Ruth De Cunha.
THE weekly competitions were all well-supported at Winklespruit Bowling Club.
The twinkle trips were played on Wednesday, 10 September. Yvonne Wright, Rose Montgomery and Kathy Harding won the session and the overall winners were Lys McDonald, Julie Sutherland and Ruth De Cunha.
Di Kruger won the 100 board draw and Yvonne Hooper walked away with the mystery prize. The Kwik Spar men’s trips was played on 11 September.
The session was won by Gerald Chalder-Royce, Ken Leach and Das Veldsman. The overall winners were Dave Jackson, Herbie Hofmann and Steve Evenwel. Mike Morris won the 100 board draw and Doug Tinkler won the whiskey raffle which he kindly donated back to the club.
The Saturday monthly mixed 2-4-2 scheduled for 20 September is cancelled due to most players playing the Doug Watson in Margate during the weekend. Congratulations to Martin and Elmarie Young who won the Umkomaas 2-4-2 on Friday, 12 September.
Audrey Toy won the weekly attendance draw, but due to his absence it was carried over. The monthly Lincon Steakhouse mixed 2-4-2 was played on Sunday, 14 September. It was well-supported with all the rinks being utilised. Greg Dickason and Lulu Bingham won the session prize and the overall winners were Cathy du Plooy and Elaine Critchlow, who also walked away with 100 board draw. The monthly committee meeting will be held on Tuesday, 23 September at 3.30pm.
