Adie’s team reach fours final at ABC

IN the women’s trips at Amanzimtoti Bowling Club, the winners were Meryl Hambley, Jean Snyman and Maureen van der Poel; and the runners-up were Mardi Dovale, Amanda Ninow and Sue Blount.
The second session went to Isabel Milne, Sue Welch and Jeanette Els.
Yvonne Hooper won the 100 board and Linda McGregor won the spider.
Doug Joubert and Mickey Roche won the men’s nominated 2-4-2 on a 4 +21; and Alan McGregor and Bobby Henderson came second. Alf Bingham and Dennis Hughes won the second session.

In the Brad Cox singles, Nita Meumann beat Herman van Zyl and then went on to defeat Mardi Dovale; Adie Fuller defeated Michelle Pitchers; Lofty van Tonder overcame Vince Phaal, and Greg McLeod got the better of Marion Crouch.
In the women’s drawn trips, Heather Brown, Amanda Ninow and Karen Shepard were the victors over Jane Coetzee, Denise Bingham and Christine Darley; Jeanne Alexander, Adrienne Robbins and Linda McGregor beat Julie Sutherland, Maxien Barnes and Margaret van Belkum; Robyn Hutton, Nicky Stirzaker and Lys McDonald defeated Doreen Salmond, Maureen Crawford and Maggie Robertson; Elsie Walker, Betty Sawyer and Tokkie de Kock won over Marion Crouch, Marie van der Walt and Gaynor Snyman; and Nita Meumann, Leonie Mills and Bernie Bretherton beat Mardi Dovale, Stella Erasmus and Michelle Pitchers. Adie Fuller, Alf Bingham, Barry Buckland and Johan van der Westhuizen have reached the final of the men’s drawn fours by beating Coy Schrauwen, Neil Oberholzer, Jeff van Belkum and Kokkie de Kock.
Only one session was played in the mutton on Sunday because of rain. The women’s winners were Marion Crouch, Doreen Salmond, Adrienne Robbins and Leigh Callaghan. Runners-up were Elsie Walker, Yvonne Wright, Maureen van der Poel and Debbie Groom, while third place went to Pam Chalder-Royle, Jenny Delport, Betty Sawyer and Maggie Robertson. As there was no second session, there was a lucky draw for wine won by Jeanne Alexander, Jane Coetzee, Heather Brown and Margaret van Belkum.
In the men’s mutton, Doug Joubert, John Mitchley, Eric Klopper and Bobby Henderson came first, second were Greg McLeod, Clive Frank, Guelfo Cobianchi and Owen Turner, and in third place were Ian Crouch, Lofty van Tonder, Adie Fuller and Jeff van Belkum.
