Bowlers tuck into Christmas dinner

THE monthly women’s Caltex twinkle trips was played at Winklespruit Bowling Club on Wednesday, 10 December.
The overall winners were Elaine Critchlow, Estelle van der Merwe and Bessie Vergottini.
The session winners were Isobel Milne, Yvonne Hooper and Ann Milne. The 100 board draw was won by Maggie Cormack and Isobel Milne walked away with the mystery prize. All the rinks were filled on Thursday, 11 December, when the monthly nominated men’s trips took place.
The overall winners were Ken Baker, Allan Duncan and Brian Cox. Gerald Chalder-Royle, Ken Leech and Das Veldman walked away with the second session prize. The 100 board draw was won by Mike Kruger. On Friday, 12 December, the weekly social bowls was well supported. The attendance draw was won by Mac Mackrory, who was not present. Attendance was very good at the Christmas dinner on Saturday, 13 December. Everyone enjoyed a delicious dinner prepared by the women from Mooihawens. The monthly Lincoln Steakhouse nominated mixed pairs 2-4-2 was played on Sunday, 14 December. It came as no surprise when Bill Rawlinson and Susan Erasmus walked away with the overall prize. The second session was won by Andre Gelderblom and Norma Raath.
Diarise the following: Social bowls on Wednesdays at 2pm and Fridays at 2.30pm. On Saturday, 20 December the Clearwater Spur nominated mixed pairs 2-4-2. Indicate your availability on the players’ list posted on the notice board. The bowling club will be closed from Tuesday, 23 December until Tuesday, 30 December. The New Year’s Eve bring and braai will be on Wednesday, 31 December. Enjoy the evening with family, friends and fellow bowlers. On Saturday, 3 January is monthly scroungers.
Birthday wishes goes to all who celebrated their birthday during the week. To all the members who are ill, the club wishes them a speedy recovery. Thoughts and prayers are with them.
