Toti AC walkers on charity drive

AMANZIMTOTI Athletics Club’s walkers enjoyed their Christmas lunch at Lords and Legends on Saturday.
The walkers had to take tin food and groceries to donate to the Jona Vaughn home, instead of giving each other a Christmas gift. They challenge all other running clubs in Toti to donate groceries to the home.
On Sunday a large group of Toti runners and walkers took part in the Westville AC Christmas run, officially the last KZN run for 2014.
The club theme was Christmas and the club’s athletes ran and walked the 15km pushing a car with Santa inside. Karen Sobrino from Toti AC was the second woman runner home in her age group in a time of 67 minutes. Members enjoyed breakfast and some good fellowship after the run. The chairman and committee wish members a merry Christmas and a happy new year and safe travels for all those going away.
Members can run with their 2014 KZN licence until 1 February 2015. Licences and membership can be renewed from January 2015.
The usual Saturday and Sunday runs will be run as normal, and the last time trial for 2014 will be on 17 December.
There is a Boxing Day run from Lords and Legends at 7am, and a New Year’s run at 6am from Lords and Legends.
