JEANETTE Els and Sue Welch were the winners in the women’s 2-4-2 at Toti Bowling Club, and in second place were Marion Crouch and Adrienne Robbins.

Maggie Robertson and Jeanette Clarence won the second session, and Maggie also won the 100 board.

In their semi-final of the men’s handicap singles, Andrew Walker and Dave McMillan had a fairly close game where they peeled at 16 all in the 12th end, but then Andrew pulled away to win 21-16 in the 16th end. Andrew then faced Greg McLeod in the final, which went to 24 ends in which Greg prevailed. In the women’s drawn pairs final, Lynn Joubert and Michelle Pitchers got the better of Val de Kok and Lesley Stephens-Viviers. Well done to all.

Neville Roscoe won the 100 board at TGIF. In the must-win attendance draw, Wessie van der Westhuizen walked away with the R1,000 prize. Next week’s pot will revert to R100. Dave McMillan’s name came up in the key draw, but sadly he chose the wrong key. Next week’s prize will be worth R7,400.

In the men’s scroungers the winner was Dave Kemp, runner-up was Hennie van der Poel, and Barry Buckland came third. Dave Gardner won plate A and Duncan Wright took plate B.

In the men’s nominated trips, the winners were Alec Stirzaker, Coy Schrauwen and Barry Buckland; Peter Labuschagne, Colin Coetzee and Dave Kemp came 2nd, and in 3rd place were Neville Roscoe, Shawn Sutherland and Herman van Zyl.

Marion Crouch and team fought hard in the semi-final of the KZN fours against strong opposition, but sadly lost by one shot. However, well done to them on coming fourth in a tournament of players from the whole province.

Several men and women’s teams took part in the Port Natal pairs on Sunday. Congratulations to the club’s two women’s teams who have gone through to round four, Julie Sutherland and Amanda Ninow who are the holders of this trophy, and the new pairing of Leonie Mills and Tokkie de Kock. Good bowling to you all in the next game on Saturday, 12 September at 1.30pm, which will be played at Stella Park. The women will appreciate Toti support for those who can make it.

The list is up for all men who wish to play senior singles, the final of which will be after the prize giving. However it will still be part of the 2014/2015 calendar. Put your names up as soon as possible. Remember the AGM and prize giving on Saturday, 19 September. Registration is from 8am. Members are asked to take a plate of snacks for the prizegiving.

Many happy returns go this week to Christine Darley, Noreen Butler, Steve Liebetrau, Bob Southey, Maureen Crawford and Herman van Zyl. Good health and good bowling is wished to all.
