Good week for Estelle

Social bowls will be played on Wednesday and Friday afternoons, starting at 2.30pm for 3pm.

ELAINE Critchlow, Estelle van der Merwe and Bessie Vergottini were overall winners for the women’s Twinkle Caltex trips which was played on Wednesday, 8 January at Winklespruit Bowling Club.

Second session winners were Jeanette Els, Yvonne Hooper and Norma Raath. The 100 board winner was Pam Chalder-Royle. Estelle van der Merwe won the mystery prize.

Overall winners for the men’s trips, sponsored by Tops Warner Beach, played on Thursday, 9 were Coy Schrauwen, Gustav Somers and Barry Bush. Second session was taken by Steve Evenwel, Dries Snyman and Gert Richter. Reg Behr won the 100 board.

The Les John mixed 2-4-2 was played on Saturday, 11 February and overall winners were Estelle van der Merwe and Piet du Toit. Second session was won by Elmarie Young and Freddie Hetterscheidt and the first session by Brian Cox and Brian Farmer. The 100 board winner was Rob Steward.

Everyone enjoyed the bring and braai on Friday evening. The atmosphere as always was great. There will be a meal this Friday evening again. Notify Trish Farmer on 082-483-5875, before Friday if you will be attending, for catering reasons.

The Saturday mixed Clearwater Spur 2-4-2 will be played on Saturday, 18 February, at Winkle BC at 8.30am for 9am. Indicate on the list on the notice board if you will be playing.

The men’s 2-4-2 will be played on Thursday, 23 February at 8.30am for 9.

Congratulations to Eddie Bingham who is celebrating his birthday this week.

The club’s prayers and thoughts are with Gundi Hetterscheidt who is not well. Everyone wishes her a speedy recovery.
