Rugby boys take victory despite wet weather conditions

The boys from Toti will next take on UKZN Impi on Friday, 12 April

ETHEKWINI Refractories Amanzimtoti Rugby Club got their Flya Tournament underway on Friday, 5 April in wet and cold conditions at Crusaders home ground.

Playing on the B field against Crusaders saw the Toti boys coming out victors by 28 – 5. Unfortunately, the wet field conditions saw a stop-start game with many handling errors and game plans also going out the window. Nevertheless, there were some positives taken out of the game. The boys from Toti will next take on UKZN Impi on Friday, 12 April in the final at Crusaders. The kickoff is scheduled for 8pm and hopefully the conditions will be better and we can see some good rugby from Toti’s strong forwards and exciting backline.

The Club’s third team, playing in their new third division up from the fifth division in 2018 played against Mangosuthu University at Hutchison Park on Friday, 29 March. The third team with a number of players missing, won the game 25 – 17 on the night taking a valuable bonus point out of the game. The third team will next take on Harlequins on Friday, 12 April at Harlequins on the Bluff. The kickoff is scheduled for 7pm.

The Club held the second round of the 100 club draw on Friday, 29 March. The winners were Moses Mpande (R2 000), Kevin Michaux (R1 000) and Monique Els (R500). The next draw takes place on Friday, 26 April.
