Umkomaas golfers tee-off in Scottburgh

Congratulations to all the winners and a huge thank you to the UGC marketing team for organising this family friendly event.

The heavy rains hammered the coast and severely damaged Umkomaas Golf Club’s neighbouring golf courses, but thankfully it didn’t cause any lasting issues.

The advantage of being built on dunes is that the course drains well. Thanks go to the ground staff team for cleaning the area. After the flood damage to Amanzimtoti golf course the women’s league matches were shifted to Scottburgh golf course. Umkomaas took on Margate and emerged with a 3 – 3 draw, winning one game, losing one and drawing another match. The Bingo night held on Friday, 26 April, was a great success and fun was definitely had by those who joined in. Congratulations to all the winners and a huge thank you to the UGC marketing team for organising this family friendly event.

Results from Saturday’s combined better ball competition included regular winners Barrie Taylor and Wally Kent taking first prize on 74 points. Bruce Sutcliffe and Nelson Moonsamy came in second on 70 points and Mike Lithgow and Bing Opie third on 68 points.
