Toti United Football Club hosts action-packed tournament

Teams from across Durban made their way to Hutchison Park for the much-anticipated annual soccer tournament.

TOTI United Football Club (TUFC) played host to the much-anticipated, fast-paced 5-a-side soccer tournament on August 9, which saw teams across Durban descend to the fields.

Club secretary Jade Jacobs said they host this tournament annually. “There is always a buzz and excitement across the association when these tournaments arise,” she said.

There were various action-packed, fast-paced matches taking place on the Hutchison Park grounds throughout the day, with teams ranging from U6 to U17 going head-to-head in a battle to score the most goals and claim victory.

“The junior teams played on the soccer grounds, while the senior and girls’ teams were hosted on the rugby grounds. All teams came ready to win and show off their skills, from the smallest six-year-old running around to the U17s who knew they had a lot more to prove across their teams,” she said.

Jacobs added that days like these also come with a lot of emotions between coaches and teams, but overall, the event was a great success thanks to the TUFC family.

The overall winner of the tournament was DH7 who walked away with a R2 000 cheque.
