Roy Baijnath participated in his 250th parkrun and he has volunteered 244 times, while John Nieuwoudt ran his 100th parkrun and has volunteered 139 times. Niewoudt said he felt great about the milestone.

“This is the best parkrun around, and it is such a pleasure doing something for the community. It was a battle to get to this milestone with all the volunteering in between, and I hope we will get a lot more parkrunners reaching these milestones,” said Niewoudt.

Since moving to the new starting point at Amanzimtoti Main Beach, he said membership has doubled, with 261 parkrunners participating on August 23.
