Amanzimtoti riders conquer Scottburgh
In addition to the mountain bike races, the day included a popular trail run that took participants through the same beautiful terrain, offering something for both runners and cyclists alike.
AMANZIMTOTI Cycle Club’s riders were among the throngs of athletes who took part in the Scottburgh MTB Challenge at Rocky Bay on October 12.

The event formed part of the KZNMTB Super Classic Series and drew a strong field of riders and runners for a full day of outdoor action.
The Amanzimtoti Cycling Club’s contingent that took on the tough 40km mountain bike race consisted of Clinton Evangelides, Jarrod Oliver, Leigh Middleborough, Tracey Holtzhausen, Bruce MacInner, and Leanne Davidson.
The challenging route featured over 900m of elevation gain through a mix of scenic coastal forest, sugarcane fields, and rugged trails.
The club’s chairperson, Barry Walker, said the course tested riders’ endurance and technical skills.
“But the Amanzimtoti cyclists rose to the occasion with impressive performances and strong finishes,” said Walker.
