South Africa’s top bowlers to touch down on Toti’s greens

The bowling scene is about to ignite as the country's best bowlers take on the prestigious Bowls South Africa Women's Open.

TOP level bowlers are set to ignite the Durban bowls scene as Port Natal Bowls hosts the Bowls South Africa Women’s Open from May 2-10, touching down on Amanzimtoti Bowling Club midway through the tournament.

Spokesperson for Port Natal Bowls, Cheryl Waterman, explained that several clubs across the region will open their greens up to this highly-anticipated tournament, which promises a feast of skill, strategy and sporting excellence.

“Top women bowlers from across will compete in fours, pairs and singles, all vying for national honours. For many, this event represents the pinnacle of the domestic bowls calendar, a stage where experience meets rising talent and every end can change the course of a game,” said Waterman enthusiastically.

For local supporters, the tournament offers a rare and exciting opportunity to witness elite-level bowls right on their doorstep.

“Spectators are encouraged to come out in numbers to support these local contenders and experience the electric atmosphere that only top-class competition can bring,” said Waterman.

Spectators can pop along to Amanzimtoti Bowling Club on May 4 and 5 to catch 11 teams of ladies fours from across SA play fours and enjoy the unique challenge that lawn bowls presents. Port Natal’s Jill Buzzard, who has skipped all three levels of District sides and won a multitude of gold medals at district, provincial and national level, can be seen in action at Amanzimtoti Bowling Club.
