MONDAY,1 TO 8 OCTOBER: Amanzimtoti library hosts a free holiday programme for children aged five to 12 years during the school holiday every day from 10.30am to 11.30am. There will be educational activities like making paper plate flowers, balloon elephant cards, bird feeder, cardboard faces, clocks and a family tree.

SATURDAY, 6 OCTOBER: Turning Point hosts a diamonds and pearls women’s brunch and market at Amanzimtoti High School from 10am to 1pm. Dress smart casual with diamonds and pearls. SATURDAY, 6 OCTOBER: Kingsburgh Lions Club hosts a carboot/craft market at Winklespruit Bowling Club, Gus Brown Road in Warner Beach, starting at 7am. Call Sonia on 072-761-1610 for details. Any donations of unwanted household items or clothing would be gratefully received.

SUNDAY, 7 OCTOBER: Toti Ramblers will be walking the Palmiet Nature Reserve in Westville. Take your picnic lunch for after the walk. Meet at Lords and Legends parking area at 7am to arrange transport. For queries contact Anita on 061-827-3208 or Hylton on 084-783-7336.

SUNDAY, 7 OCTOBER: Amanzimtoti’s partially sighted and blind bowlers are urged to attend the Visually Impaired Bowlers Association’s weekly bowling afternoon at Berea Bowling Club in Durban every Sunday from 1pm to 4pm. Blind and partially sighted people who are prepared to join this association can look forward to an afternoon of fun and fellowship playing bowls. TUESDAY, 9 OCTOBER: All South Coast women are invited to attend the next Amanzimtoti WI meeting at 9.15am. If you are new to the South Coast or are retired and have time on your hands, belonging to women’s institute is a great way to make friends, learn new skill, integrate into the society and fill your days. WEDNESDAY, 10 OCTOBER: Upper South Coast Garden Club meets every second Wednesday of the month at 9.30am, at a venue published in the Sun of the previous week. Membership is open to anyone interested in gardening even if you don’t have a garden. Annual membership fees are R30. Visitors are welcome. Ramble along with other Toti walkers

TOTI Ramblers walk every Tuesday and Thursday at 6am from Lords and Legends parking area. All welcome. Call Hylton on 084-783-7336.

CHESS players meet on alternate Wednesdays at either Kingsburgh library or Amanzimtoti library.

There is no charge. The time will be decided to suit the players.

All levels of chess players, from beginners to advanced, are welcome.
