Forty-two-year-old road runner seeks help

For Sithole life was difficult as he had no skills for employment.

THULANE Shali Sithole, who currently resides in a back room in Glenvista, is looking for people to help him change his life through sport.

The 42-year-old seeks size 11 running shoes and donations to enter races.

Sithole grew up in KwaZulu-Natal, in Empangeni, in a family of six children and he is the third born to his late mother, Martha Dlamini, who passed away with Sithole’s grandmother in 1996.

For Sithole life was difficult, as he had no skills for employment. Working as a gardener in Oakdene since January, 2001, Sithole found refuge with the Masilela family in Glenvista.

He started running in 1989, in the Comrades Marathon, but had to stop due to a lack of funds to enter the races.

Although he has had to skip many races, Sithole has not stopped his training, as it motivates him and keeps him focused.

He is pleading with the community to assist with fees for his kit, as well as to enter the races.

With his next race being the Soweto Marathon, and his 10th Comrades in 2017, Sithole is in need of running shoes for training and for the races, two track suits and donations to enter the races.

If you can help or know of anyone who can assist, email to Sithole on sitholethulane851@gmail.com or contact him on 079 766 4522.
