Winners Business Forum receives prestigious award from Booysens Police Station

Booysens Police Station lauds Winners Business Forum for their exceptional dedication to community service, particularly their transformative efforts in cleaning and maintaining the station and its surroundings.

Winners Business Forum received a prestigious award from Booysens Police Station on March 4 in recognition of their outstanding dedication to community service.

Their transformative efforts in cleaning and maintaining the Booysens station and its surroundings were particularly highlighted.

Brigadier Jones Hennie of Booysens Police Station applauded the efforts of Winners Business Forum.

Community-driven crime prevention

Hennie recounted the initial interaction when the forum approached the police station to introduce themselves, elucidating their purpose and commitment to community service. Hennie expressed the belief that the forum, originating from the community itself, is an ideal partner in the prevention of crime.

“The forum is from the community, and it is the right team to work with, who understand the ills we face in our community.”

Since it started, Winners Business Forum has become a formidable force in combating crime by addressing one crucial aspect often overlooked, the physical state of the community. The heart of the forum’s initiatives lies in their comprehensive cleaning campaign,” said Hennie.

Hennie highlighted the significance of this effort, noting that unkempt areas can provide cover for criminals.

“By venturing into neglected spaces and ensuring cleanliness, Winners Business Forum has actively contributed to making Booysens and its surrounding areas less conducive to criminal activities.

“One of the standout aspects of the forum’s contribution is their commitment to action. The forum has truly delivered on its promises.

Winners Business Forum’s transformative efforts recognised.

“They have put their words on the ground and changed them into action. Unlike instances where promises of assistance are made but not fulfilled, the forum has actively engaged in making tangible improvements to the community.

“What sets the forum apart is its altruistic approach. The forum utilised its own resources for the cleaning campaigns, and notably, it did not seek financial compensation for its services. This selfless dedication to community betterment has resonated strongly with Booysens Police Station and the wider community,” said Hennie.

Transformative efforts in community cleanliness

Gayer Landis, chairperson of the CPF, emphasized the importance of initiatives like the Winners Business Forum.
Landis pointed out that criminals often thrive in unkempt areas, making community cleanliness a crucial factor in crime prevention.

“The forum’s actions not only contribute to physical cleanliness but also send a powerful message that the community is actively involved in creating a safer and more secure environment,” said Landis.

John Dlomo, chairperson of Winners Business Forum, expressed gratitude for the warm reception from Booysens Police Station. Reflecting on the forum’s inception on December 27, 2023, at the police station, Dlomo highlighted the community’s need for a positive transformation.

“The forum was born out of a shared concern for Booysens becoming an unwelcoming place, and their primary goal is to stand up for the community by giving back.

“We believe that the police officers cannot fight crime alone; we need to help as community members too. Our commitment extends beyond cleaning campaigns. We aim to address the root causes of crime and create a safer, more appealing environment for all residents,” said Dlomo.

Dlomo urged the community to actively participate in these efforts, emphasizing the need for collective action.
“I envision a community united in its efforts to create positive change, free from the grip of crime and with a renewed sense of pride and appeal,” said Dlomo.
