JOHANNESBURG: South African Football Coaching Association is planning for the future of excellence in soccer.
Re-launching the association which started in 1992, the association has numerous plans to better coaching on the soccer field.
“We must broaden the base of South African soccer and get uniformity in the style of coaching,” said Gavin Hunt, who is a well-known PSL coach, at the re-launch of SAFCA which took place on Monday September 16.
Another PSL coach who has made it through the ranks is Cavin Johnson, who since the inception of the association in 1992 has become one of the best coaches in South Africa. “When we started SAFCA, it helped me to broaden my soccer coaching skills and I think this is the best way to better the overall standing of soccer in the country.”
SAFCA will be looking at various programmes for the respective coaches in South Africa. All coaches will have to enrol and from there the association will communicate with the clubs to set up the best possible coaching members throughout South Africa.
