The CPF public relations officer, David Sanders, said in a statement, “Our community holds great importance in upholding the values of democracy, and it is crucial that everyone feels safe and secure during this significant event. Recognising this, the CPF has been working closely with SAPS and local security companies to develop comprehensive plans and strategies to safeguard the integrity of the election process as well as the days proceeding and after the election days.”

The CPF, in partnership with SAPS, will be conducting community awareness campaigns to educate residents about their rights and responsibilities during the election. These efforts will empower individuals to report any suspicious activities and promote an environment of trust.

The collaborative efforts will include:

• Increased patrols: The CPF, in collaboration with SAPS and security companies, will enhance patrolling activities during the election period. This will help deter any potential acts of violence or misconduct and ensure a visible presence of law enforcement.

• Security assessments: The CPF, together with SAPS and security companies, has conducted thorough security assessments of all polling stations and areas of high foot traffic. This will enable us to identify potential vulnerabilities and implement appropriate security measures accordingly.

• Emergency response: In the event of any security concerns or emergencies, the CPF, SAPS and security companies have established a coordinated response mechanism. This will ensure swift and effective action, guaranteeing the safety of all community members.
