Brighton Beach Police issue crime alert for influx of house-breaking incidents
Residents on The Bluff are urged to ensure their windows are securely closed as criminals are gaining entry into homes through open windows.

THE Brighton Beach policing precinct has observed a surge in home break-ins, particularly where criminals are gaining entry through windows. The Bluff area is particularly impacted by this trend.
Captain Louise Le Roux has warned the community to burglar-proof their homes. Prioritising the investment in high-quality home security is crucial, safeguarding both the well-being of the family and the possessions within the household.

“Ensure the windows remain closed, including that of any outbuildings. The internal installation of burglar guards increases your home security level. Please ensure the frames, nuts and bolts and latches are being maintained as these security features are being jeopardised through tampering, corrosion and incorrect installation,” said Le Roux.
Homeowners are advised to conduct routine walkabouts on their premises, performing on-site inspections to evaluate the efficiency of their security measures. Le Roux said that doing this will allow for a safer community.
