Police arrest man at suspected Clairwood drug den

The suspect was found in possession of five pieces of suspected crack cocaine and 34 bags of suspected crystal meth.

METRO police arrested a 52-year-old man at a suspected drug outlet on South Coast Road in Clairwood recently.

The metro police drug team, working in partnership with Counter Narcotics KZN, conducted an intelligence-driven operation on South Coast Road.

The suspect was found in possession of five pieces of suspected crack cocaine and 34 bags of suspected crystal meth with an estimated street value of R3900.

According to a police report, the suspect was charged and detained at Montclair police station.

“Durban Metro Police remain committed to intelligence-driven operations aimed at disrupting the illegal drug trade and keeping our communities safer,” said metro police in a statement.

The suspect is expected to appear at the Durban Magistrate’s Court soon.
