Seasons Drive seeks to reinstate moral fibre in Montwood

THE Seasons Drive plans to empower the community and re-instill moral fibre in society throughout all seasons.

Chaired Zanele Sibiya, who is also the Montclair Youth Desk’s chairman, the NPO aims to create high-quality resource centres around South Africa which can be utilised by communities. The centres will act as a support mechanism for each community. It will provide computers, a media room and skills development. The centre will also host eco and literacy clubs.

The focus of the NPO is to empower and develop the community in order to create unity. They have a relationship with different community organisations including the Montclair CPF and Park Patrol. They have assisted in the CPF’s 21-day drug-awareness campaign and Montwood Teen Idols as well as handed out clothes in a rural area.

“People are responding positively to us, we can see a change in people’s perspective of the youth,” said Zanele. Her team is made up of local youth, Sboniso Nzimande, Njabulo Gumede, Mfundo Molefe and Nozipho Thusi.

Their main focus is building the resource centre in the area which they hope will be up and running by next year. “We want to work with organisations who also seek to empower the community. We will be reaching out to help wherever we can. The organisation will also be running campaigns to highlight community issues such as dealing with society pressures, motivating and driving leadership. Motivation is essential to use your full potential to ensure a better livelihood,” said Zanele.

Through youth empowerment, The Seasons Drive looks to mould future leaders in the community and create legends. They want to inspire people to voluntarily bring about positive change and upliftment in the community.

Anyone willing to partner with the organisation can call Zanele on 078-702-1572 or vice-chairman Njabulo Gumede on 078-389-6922.
