Drug blitz nets 14 for possession
MEMBERS of the Brighton Beach SAP crime prevention unit arrested 16 people for drug possession in a four-day operation from Friday, 10 to Monday, 13 January.

Along with the arrests, the team of six led by Warrant Officer JJ Sonnekus, seized 67 straws of heroin and 18 grams of dagga in the Brighton Beach and Clairwood policing areas.
“The fight against the use and distribution of banned substances will always be a priority for the police. Drugs generate crime, as users and distributors turn to crime within their local communities to sustain their habit. Communities are urged to work together with their local authorities and are urged to report people using and dealing in banned substances to their local police,” said Brighton Beach SAP communications officer, Captain Louise Le Roux.
Brighton Beach management commends W/O Sonnekus and his team for the arrests and the seizure.
