Schools adopts YWP wildlife sanctuary

Crow receives much-needed donations.

AS part of their ‘adopt a week’ programme, Yellowood Park Primary School pupils and staff donated much-needed items to the Centre for Rehabilitation of Wildlife (Crow) in the second term.

The ‘adopt a week’ initiative sees the school adopt a non-profit organisation or charity for a week and assist them. In the first term, Yellowwood Park Primary lent a hand to Thornhill House.

The items, which were part of Crow’s wish-list, were collected from the school on Tuesday, 10 June. Throughout the term, pupils and staff donated items ranging from ice-cream containers to baby formula and medical supplies, which are essential to Crow’s work.

“It is truly heartwarming for us to be on the receiving end of such a massive outpouring of generosity and support from our local community. We are so grateful to our younger generation and are very impressed by their passion and commitment to helping us care for our local wildlife,” said Crow’s marketing and communications officer, Paul Hoyte.
