IN celebration of Arbor Month, Bluff resident, Sharon Young and her father hope to make the Bluff a little greener by offering saplings to local schools.
“My father and I grow Natal mahogany trees, among others from seed and donate to anybody who will give them a good home. Since this month is Arbor Month, we had the idea of donating to schools to educate pupils about the need for trees,” said Young.
The duo have planted trees throughout the Bluff and are willing to plant two trees at seven schools and provide ongoing support to the schools to ensure the trees reach maturity.
“I urge other residents to get involved and plant more trees in our suburb. They form such an essential part of our existence and more people need to realise they have a part to play.”
