Lifelong donor lauded by blood bank

Local man reaches blood donation milestone.

WITH blood stock levels critically low, the Southway Mall Blood Donor Clinic applauds the efforts of donors, like Graham Daniel, who recently made his 150th donation.

Daniel, who lives in Malvern, was assisted by enrolled nurse, Nobubele Mlahlwa in making his milestone donation in January.

“We congratulate Graham on achieving this wonderful milestone of 150 donations in his lifetime. Considering one may only donate every eight weeks, this has taken him many years of sacrificially giving of his blood to save others,” said clinic supervisor, Sister Cheryl Clack.

“We appeal to the community around Southway Mall to follow Graham’s example,” she added.

Donors must be at least 16-years-old, weigh at least 50kg, practise a sexually-safe lifestyle and be in good health. For information, call the clinic on 031-459-0986.
