Local company gives back

DSES has made the commitment that every project completed will have a purpose and a benefit to the less fortunate

PROJECTS with a purpose is a new give back initiative started by David Swartz Engineering Services (DSES).

The idea is to give back to the disadvantaged families of the communities.

Seven families were chosen to receive food hampers that were certainly welcomed as the new year approached.

Director of DSES, Melanie Swartz said with the help of the staff and generous sponsors, KZN Tools and Star Stationers, they managed to collect enough groceries and other items to support seven needy families. “This is what we are about, we see the need in the Wentworth community and as a company we decided to take the initiative to start the project which will continue to grow in the future,” said Swartz.

The Projects with a purpose team spent the day visiting the families not only to hand out the food parcels but spend time learning about their lives and needs.

“It was a humbling experience and as DSES we are not just in the business to get rich but we are also here to empower as well as care for the community. Many organisations get help from the government but who helps the families who are left behind, that is why we aim to make that difference,” she added.

DSES challenges others to step up and consider that many do not have the luxury of feeding their family and to make the commitment to the community. “We have made the commitment that every project completed will have a purpose and a benefit to the less fortunate,” said Swartz.
