Tracked cellphone leads police to Montclair stolen car and suspects
Police in KwaMakhutha together with the owner of the car followed the location of the cellphone and found the stolen vehicle.
A CELLPHONE left inside a stolen vehicle helped the police track it to KwaMakhutha, leading to the arrest of two suspects and the recovery of a stolen car recently.
A car was hijacked in Montclair on Tuesday evening (September 14). According to the information received from the police, the victim was at his driveway when two men approached him.

The pair reportedly pointed the victim with firearms and demanded car keys before fleeing in his car.
“A cellphone that was inside the stolen vehicle was used to track its location to KwaMakhutha. Police in KwaMakhutha together with the owner of the car followed the location and found the stolen vehicle. The suspects were arrested and charged accordingly,” a source said.
The investigation is continuing and the police are investigating circumstances surrounding the hijacking and whether the suspects may be linked to other crimes.
The suspects are expected to appear in court this week.
