The day saw the foundation phase learners showcase their love and appreciation for their grandmothers and grandfathers by performing various dances and poems. Each act was centred around the theme of generations of love.

The sudden smiles that sprung on the learners’ faces after scanning the room for their grandparents while performing was enough to bring some grandparents tears of joy.
Ramesh Singh, acting principal of the school, said that the first grandparents’ day was a huge success.
“It was a morning that captured the very essence of St Mary’s, a school that values family, cherishes its community and believes that children flourish when the important people in their lives come together,” he said.
Singh also shared his gratitude to all grandparents for coming out and spending the morning with them, as well as the teachers who helped the learners rehearse their performances.
