Stainbank WI learns about icing on the cake
Next month will be the AGM so the president called for any nominations.
STAINBANK Women’s Institute president Arlene Greenfield welcomed all members and new friends to the first meeting of the year and wished all members well.
Thoughts are with members who are not too well and the WI remembers Flo Abrahsom, a long-time member who died earlier in the week.
After the singing of Unity, apologies were given and then the secretary advised about the workshops which will be held this year on all sorts of interesting subjects. Executive member Maureen Lavis advised about the executive AGM to be held on l April and the different competitions. Try to enter as many as you can.
The treasurer read the finance report and advised all members that subs are now due. Advise if for some reason a member will be resigning. In the absence of Donna Chelin, Linda read out all the social news. Arlene thanked members for the donations to charity and confirmed that the charity next month will be CROW.

After tea there was a fascinating demonstration by Sharon Smook on icing cakes and how to make individual items. How different the cakes look with that individual extra item. Birthday members for the month are Maureen du Plessis, Deseree Cousins, Anne Barnard and Koulla Tsouris, who has not been well. The usual raffle, money board and swindle were drawn.
