Woman stabbed to death outside hostel

The man was searched and was found in the possession of a blood-stained knife in his pocket

A WALK with a male friend suddenly turned deadly when a 28-year-old woman was attacked and stabbed to death.

On Tuesday, 23 February around 10pm, the victim who was sitting with her killer before the attack, agreed to take a walk with him outside SJ Hostel. According to close friends she ran back about an hour and half later with blood gushing from a stab wound to her neck. Before she succumbed to her injuries, she told them who had stabbed her.

At the scene, Montclair SAPS detective, W/O Rico Naidoo attended to the scene and was told by hostel residents that the suspect was hiding in the building. Cst Habeeb, Montclair task team and crime intelligence members assisted W/O Naidoo in searching the entire Block P and they  found the man hiding in a storeroom.

He was searched and found in the possession of a blood-stained knife in his pocket. He was charged for murder and appeared in Durban Magistrate’s Court. The suspect was remanded into police custody until Friday, 26 February.
