Bikers’ Bible run rally raises R15,000
Our aim was to show the community that we are not just bikers, we are a family.
Local bikers raised over R15,000 at the annual 69’rs Bible run on Saturday, 28 May.
The day was a huge success that started with a mass ride from Edwin Swales Wimpy and culminated in fun and games at the Dutch Club in Tara Road.
“None of it would have been possible without the joint effects from the His Kingdom Riders group, MACs for organising the potjies, the prayers from all our friends and family, and most importantly, everyone who attended,” said 69ers president, Danie le Roux.
“Our aim was to show the community that we are not just bikers, we are a family even though we wear different patches on our back.”
Through the entry fee, raffles, potjie entries and donations, the bikers raised a record amount of R15,020 for Bibles to be distributed among the people of Durban.
“The money has been split between the HKR group, who will use the money in all the good work that they do, ministering with people on the streets of Durban and give each person a Bible.
Our portion of the money will go towards spreading the word and handing out Bibles through our church, the AGS in Amanzimtoti,” said Danie.
