South Coast Road cyclist hit by falling wood load as truck overturns
The man is in a stable condition.

A CYCLIST was injured this morning in Bayhead after a truck overturned and its contents landed on him this morning, 29 May.

The man, who was on the pavement at the corner of Bayhead and South Coast roads at about 5.30am, was pinned under the load of wooden pallets, according to Rescue Care operations manager, Ceron Lennox.
It appears as if the truck driver lost control as he was taking a corner when the truck overturned.

“Advanced life support paramedics worked to stabilise the man while the Durban Fire Department and SAPS search and rescue worked to free him,” said Lennox.
It took rescue workers about an hour to free the man, who was then taken to hospital in a stable condition.
