Support COP cause at fundraiser golf day
Help raise funds to support crime-fighting efforts on the Bluff.
DO your part to keep the Bluff safe and have some fun at the Community Orientated Policing (COP) golf day on Friday, 2 June.
“It is going to be a great day, not only for golfers but families,” said long-time COP member and head of the NGO’s bike squad, Pieter Barnard.
The Bluff National Park Golf Club hosts the event, which commences at 10am. The day consists of a fourball alliance with a shotgun tee-off. The cost is R1,550.00 per fourball, which includes the halfway house and dinner.

A portion of the proceeds from golf rentals will go to COP too, thanks to Angus Wolf. There will raffles on offer with exciting prizes. From 2pm to 5pm, there will be rides for children, jumping castles and Blue Security’s Captain Blue will be there to entertain.
“We hope this event will be a success and that it will become an annual fundraiser for COP,” said Barnard.
People or businesses are invited to sponsor holes. The 19th hole costs R2,000; the first and 18th cost R1,000 and the others are R500. People are also urged to donate prizes for the day and any other sponsorships they can.
“Join us for a day of golf and family fun and help to raise much-needed funds for COP.
From units doing foot patrols during the day and units out at night or in the early hours of the morning, deterring and arresting criminals, to the COP 24-hour emergency and alerts phone and WhatsApp group, our members who are all volunteers, work tirelessly to keep the suburb safe.
We are now taking this one step further in our efforts to make our suburb a safer place. COP in partnership with PRSS Security will open a 24-hour emergency control room soon,” said COP manager, Rake Jeeves.
