Singing raises seniors’ club’s spirits
Tea and cake is R5 per person and our annual fees R30.
AT Montclair Senior Citizens Club’s meeting last month, devotions were taken by Rev Roy Govender of Montclair Methodist Church.
Rev Govender highlighted the importance of being satisfied with what we have in life, and to have the strength to face all adversity and to look for the positives.
There are so many things to be thankful about and he urged everyone to focus on the good and positive things.
It was lovely to join in and sing a few choruses.
After a cup of tea, a piece of cake and a sandwich, the meeting was entertained by the talented Williams and saint singers who sang songs like You Raise Me Up, Gabriel’s Oboe, Mr Bojangles, Cry Me a River, Great Solo, Summertime, The Flower Duet and an accapella version of You Are the New Day.
The singers ended with The Lord Bless You and Keep You.
It was great to have two new visitors and the club hopes they enjoyed themselves and will join the club. They welcome any senior citizen in the area to go along, socialise and join in the fun on the second Thursday of each month.
Tea and cake costs R5 per person and the annual fees are just R30. Raffles are held to help pay for the entertainers, with tickets at R1.

Montclair Senior Citizens Club hopes to see everyone again this Thursday, 14 September at Montclair Methodist Church hall at 9am.
