YWP WI learns about essential oils
The tea duties and competitions were read out for next month.

YELLOWWOOD Park Women’s Institute (WI) president Sharon Quail welcomed all members and visitors to the September meeting and as usual, shared special thoughts with those who were unwell.
After the WI prayer, the treasurer’s and secretary’s report were read.
Many thanks to those women. Fortunately the finances are good, mainly due to the success of the monthly sales table and to Alida Pegram who goes the extra mile.
Then it was time for an informative talk by Angelique Michel on the many uses of essential oils which are made up of all-natural ingredients. There are so many different ways they can be used and all have such amazing smells like lavender, lemon grass, juniper and tea tree. There is a scent to suit everyone so give them a try. Add two or three drops in your bath at night, to help you sleep. They can be purchased locally but do remember ‘less is best’.
The tea duties and competitions were read out for next month.
WI members are asked to remember all the competitions will be donated as it is getting close to that time of the year. Before they broke for a delicious tea, Vanessa Wilesmith gave an amusing talk or how to drive in South Africa, which was unfortunately very true. After tea, delegate and judge to Congress Linda Melson told everyone all about the annual meeting and that next year is the big one, marking 90 years of WI. Everyone was happy to see there were many more entries for this year’s competitions. Many members, namely Gerda Viljoen, Linda Melson, Alida Pegram, Angelique Michel Deleen Loker and Jackie Michel all did very well. Thank you to everyone for entering. Next year the aim is to have double the entries. Yellowwood Park was also mentioned for entering the Royal Show this year. The meeting closed with a prayer and a reminder to stay safe.
