Yellowwood Park Falcons lose home game to Montford [PHOTOS]

SATURDAY afternoon saw Yellowwood Park FC Falcons take on Montford FC in the Pinetown Football Association Knockout Cup Tournament at Yellowwood Sports Club, and it was an intense affair. Both teams made it clear from the start of the game that this would be a fast-paced game and that both teams wanted to win.

“In the first half, Yellowwood Park was under a lot of pressure and were defending their goals when the referee blew his whistle for a foul which was committed in the big box. Montford FC was awarded a penalty which found the back of the net. Montford FC went into half time with a one-goal advantage. In the second half, Yellowwood Park FC Falcons held a lot of possession but could not convert this possession and pressure into goals. Montford FC pressed high and forced the Yellowwood Park FC Falcons into making a mistake. The Montford FC player who had won possession of the ball had a one on one with the goalkeeper and scored the second goal. Yellowwood Park FC Falcons had their opportunities but could not score and kept pressing but time ran out on them,” said organiser, Craig Inngs.

The final score was Yellowwood Park FC Falcons 0 – 2 Montford FC.

“Well done to the players that played and thank you to everyone who supported local football,” he added.

The next fixture at Yellowwood Park Sports club is on Tuesday night, 16 July at 7pm, between the Yellowwood Park FC Eagles vs Montford FC.
