Brighton Beach police to host Clairwood Imbizo

Brighton Beach police calls on the residents of Clairwood to come and have their say at the Clairwood Imbizo.

THE Brighton Beach Police Station invites members of the community, leaders and stakeholders in Clairwood to a public engagement process to seek the community’s input in the fight against crime.

The Imbizo will take place on Saturday, January 25 at 10:00 at the Clairwood Shree Siva Soobramoniar Temple, 122 Sirdar Road, Clairwood.

The event will be led by Brighton Beach Station Commander, Colonel Qaphela Ngubane, accompanied by her senior management team and other role players involved in the fight against crime. The Imbizo is meant for free dialogue and collaboration, calling on the community to become involved in preventing and solving crimes.

Key objectives

The engagement aims to:

  1. Recourse to achieve short-term and long-term sustainable outcomes to address criminality within our policing precinct.
  2. SAPS relationship building to secure community co-operation in the fight against crime.

The attendees will be allowed to express their views on their problems, discuss local crime and pass on information with anonymity.

The Brighton Beach police expects that this forum will lead to transparency and a workable plan toward improving safety in the area.
