Police call on Bluff residents to attend public meeting

The community engagement meeting aims to address bottlenecks in The Bluff policing precinct and devise strategic plans to combat crime.

THE Brighton Beach Police Station invites members of the public to an imbizo that will be held at the Bluff National Park Golf Club on November 24 at 13:00.

An imbizo is a community meeting called by leaders to interact with residents about various issues affecting the community to try to come up with solutions to those issues.

Community leaders, religious leaders, the business sector, and all stakeholders in the fight against crime within the sector of The Bluff are invited to participate in this meeting.

Police spokesperson of the Brighton Beach Police Station, Captain Louise le Roux, said the programme would allow those in attendance to voice their concerns related to crime within The Bluff and share criminal activities anonymously.

“The objectives of this community engagement session include the recourse to achieve short-term and long-term sustainable outcomes to address criminality within The Bluff policing precinct, to rebuild a good relationship between the police and community and to secure community co-operation in the fight against crime,” said le Roux.

Brighton Beach station commander, Colonel Qaphe Ngubane, and her senior management together with stakeholders in the fight against crime urged the public to attend the meeting.
