State free rabies vaccination drive coming to ward 64

The KZN Department of Agriculture and Rural Development has announced dates for free rabies vaccinations to take place in ward 64.

THE KZN Department of Agriculture and Rural Development will be conducting free vaccinations for rabies in Montclair, Woodlands, Yellowwood Park and Woodhaven from March 12-14. The vaccination campaign aims to curb the outbreak of rabies and ensure safety for both the residents and animals.

Queen Duma, a departmental animal health technician under the Department of Agriculture’s veterinary services directorate, emphasised that vaccination of household pets against rabies is extremely crucial and that the disease is fatal but avoidable through regular immunisation.

Dates and location

Vaccination dates are as follows:

March 12 – Montclair and Woodlands
  • 09:00 – 10:30: Woodlands – Open park at the junction of Glanville Road and Horace Road.
  • 11:00 – 12:00: Woodlands – Nagel Square in front of Woodlands Pharmacy.
  • 12:30 – 13:30: Montclair – Bale Avenue playlot.
March 13 – Montclair
  • 09:00 – 10:30: Montclair – Open space on Anleno Road opposite Mowat Park High School.
  • 11:00 – 12:00: Montclair – Donovan Road park.
  • 12:30 – 13:30: Montclair – Parking lot at 191 Wood Road.
March 14 – Woodhaven and Yellowwood Park
  • 09:00 – 10:30: Woodhaven – Linnet Road playlot opposite house no. 54.
  • 11:00 – 12:00: Yellowwood Park – Civic Centre grounds.
